Obituary for Robert Wilton Floyd Robert Wilton Floyd
Lexington Resident Dies At Age 71

Robert Wilton Floyd, 71, of Lexington, Virginia went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 1, 2022.

He was born at home on August 11, 1950 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Albert Wilton Floyd and M. Lucille Floyd.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Alestock Floyd; son, Jeffrey M. Floyd and daughter-in-law, Laura Floyd, as well as his much loved grandchildren, Keyan and Amiah Floyd. Also surviving are his siblings, Roy L. Floyd, Linda F. Johnson (Gary), Ann Stearns (John) and Wes Floyd (Susan), as well as many nieces and nephews, including Cindy Stipp, Brian Floyd, Kris Ford, Melanie Henderson, Kevin Alestock, Scotty Alestock, Natalie Alestock, Phillip Henson Jr., Jason Alestock, Anthony Alestock and Nathan Spinner.

Bob graduated from Rockbridge High School in 1968 after which he attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College for awhile before working at various places such as Whites Truck Stop, Jane Colby in Fairfield and Hermetite in Buena Vista.

He loved his family, his friends, his music, and old cowboy movies. An original character in his own right, Bob had a quick wit and wasn't afraid to use it. Happy Trails to you Bob ... until we meet again.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Reginald A. Early officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service.

Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
