Obituary for Edna Mae Dedrick Edna Mae Dedrick
Fairfield Resident Worked With The Rockbridge County School System's Cafeteria

Edna Mae Dedrick, 79, of Fairfield, Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at her home.

Born February 7, 1943 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Henry David Wilson Ramsey and Sally Virginia Hayslett Ramsey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Emma Lee Alderman, Peggy Sue Sweet, Bessie Virginia Floyd, Josephine Ann Branham, Linda Faye Flint and a brother, David Wilson Ramsey.

Edna worked for 16 years for the Rockbridge County School System in the cafeteria and was a homemaker who loved her family, especially the years she got to spend raising her children and helping look after her grandchildren.

Edna enjoyed going camping, and listening to country music, and she made some of the best cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls in the county.

Surviving are her husband, James Edward Dedrick; daughters, Virginia Kay Dedrick of Martinsville, Kimberly Dedrick Moore and Karen Elaine Dedrick (Wes Clark); granddaughters, Sierra Nicole Moore (fiancé, Travis Sorrells) and Cheyenne Moore Henson (Daniel Henson); brother, William Riley Ramsey; numerous nieces and nephews, and special pets, Chloe and Miss Bea.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family for one hour prior to the service.
