Obituary for John Eric (Jack) Pearson John Eric (Jack) Pearson
Lexington Resident Had Long Career In Telephone Industry

John Eric (Jack) Pearson, 93, of Lexington, Virginia, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Kendal at Lexington.

Jack was born April 30, 1928 in Toronto, Canada, the son of the late Eric Wilfred Pearson and Amy Robinson Pearson.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Michael Pearson, and his special golden retriever, Duke.

Jack was a long and faithful member of the Presbyterian Church, including New Providence Presbyterian Church in New Jersey and Virginia; he had a strong Christian faith.

Jack enjoyed walking, especially in the Lake District in England. He was an avid reader and teacher of British Romanticism and as a Master Gardener, Jack always enjoyed being in his garden. He treasured his summer times at FairyLake in Muskoka, Ontario, and he loved and was extremely proud of his wife and family.

Jack worked his entire 43-year career for the telephone company, beginning with BellCanada in Ontario and ultimately retiring from AT&T in New Jersey.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Irene; and children, Catharine Anne of New Jersey, John Michael of Florida, and Donald Eric of Colorado. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Morgan, William, Timothy, Parker, Trevor, Elizabeth and Owen.

His memorial service was held at Kendal at Lexington on Tuesday, April 26.

In lieu of flowers or other honoraria, please direct gifts to the Rockbridge SPCA at 10 Animal Place in Lexington, Virginia.
