Franklin Douglas Rowsey, 79, of Buena Vista, Virginia, went to be with our Lord Monday, May 2, 2022.

Franklin was born December 21, 1942 to the late Lewis E. Rowsey and Delcie Chittum Rowsey.

Franklin was a longtime member of Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He made a living working with his hands as a skilled carpenter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Franklin Rowsey; brothers, Lewis Rowsey Jr. and Richard "Dickie" Rowsey; great-grandson, Kenneth Rowsey; and former wife, Mary Wood Ramsey.

Franklin is survived by his loving wife, Penny Staton Rowsey; his son, Ronald Andrew Rowsey and wife, Mary; daughter, Tonya Staton Taylor and husband, Charles; siblings, Dale Lynn Rowsey and wife, Martha, Shawn Terrell Rowsey and wife, Sherry, and Dawn Rowsey Golden and husband, Charles; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and family who loved him.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, May 6 at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Adam Williams and the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
