Red Cross Employee Was Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Member

Harry Strickler (Sam) Tomlinson II, 66, of Roanoke, Virginia, died Monday, May 2, 2022.

Born July 2, 1955 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Harry Strickler Tomlinson Sr. and Noreen Susan Thomas Tomlinson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Major Alvis Tomlinson on April 20, 2022, and a half-brother, Robert E. Tomlinson.

Harry was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and worked for 23 years for the Red Cross hospital services.

Surviving are his siblings, Katherine Taylor (AJ), a special sister and caregiver, Thresa Moore (Wayne), and Stephen Tomlinson (Bernice), and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted Tuesday, May 10 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Joseph Callis. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450, or Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
