Covington Resident Dies At Age 68

Ella Sue DePriest Montgomery Miller, 68, of E. Dolly Ann Dr., Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. was born December 27, 1953 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Ira T. Depriest, Sr.and Pauline Rogers Depriest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Emmett Wayne Montgomery, Sr.; a brother, Ira T. Depriest, Jr. and Billy Grey Depriest.

She was a member of the Covington Moose Lodge and enjoyed camping, working in her beautiful flower garden, and taking care of her two fur babies, Cain, and Abel. She was a caregiver and mother figure to many.

Surviving are husband, James Miller; three sons, Emmett Wayne Montgomery Jr., and wife, Wendy; Chad Ira Montgomery, Dustin Grey Montgomery, and wife, Kelly, all of Covington; six grandchildren; two brothers, Donald L. Depreist, Jr., Roger Dean and Patty Depriest; five sisters, Linda and Michael Tucker, Mary Ann and husband, David Provost, Pat and husband, Rodney Tingler, Tamara and husband, Robert Fridley, Joy and husband David Fridley, numerous nieces and nephews and her extended Miller family.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contribution can be made in Mrs. Miller's name to the Alleghany Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, Va. 24457.
