Verna Arlene Newell, age 89, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022.

She was born January 5, 1933 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of Terry Martin and Ruth Henson Martin.

Verna was a lifelong member of New Life Fellowship.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Charles Franklin Newell, and son, Matthew Mark Newell.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Carolyn Newell; sisters, Lillian Harless, Betty Lou Mays and Christine Terry.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum by Pastor Ray Burton.

Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
