Lois Virginia Lynn Smith, 97, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Born November 10, 1925 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of Ernest Lynn and Blanch Eggleston Lynn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Earl F. Smith; daughter-in-law, Hilda Ayers Smith; great-grandson, William Frank; and sister, Josephine Lynn Ballard.

Surviving are her children, Brenda Dianne Smith, Sharon Smith Thompson (Ricky) and Sidney Earl Smith (Linda); nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Pastor Bill Thomas.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Rockbridge Area Hospice and the staff at Kendal at Lexington.
