U.S. Army Veteran Was Burlington Retiree

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Davidson, 72, of Buena Vista, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Davidson was born on January 24, 1934 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Braxton T. Davidson and Mary Walden Davidson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Burlington Industries with over 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Chittum Davidson; two sisters: Dallie Barber and Ruby Davidson; and one brother, Harold Davidson.

Mr. Davidson is survived by one daughter, Darlene L. Davidson and fiance, Donnie Huffman of Buena Vista; two brothers: Thomas R. Davidson of Williamsburg and Braxton T. Davidson of Spout Springs; three sisters: Helen D. Lee of Madison Heights; Ruth A. Davidson and Cynthia D. McKenna, both of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Earl Hamilton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Conald Fogus and Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
