Michael Dean Wolfe, 57, of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday morning, March 26, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Wolfe was born August 15, 1948, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Luther and Dorothy Redman Wolfe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mavis Wolfe.

Mike was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Boiling Spring Ruritan Club, the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Covington Chapter of the NAACP and Temple Baptist Church.

He received a BS degree from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Education degree from the University of Virginia. He served for 21 years as a teacher and guidance counselor at Alleghany High School.

In 1992, he was elected to his first term as clerk of the Circuit Court, a position he held until his death.

Surviving are his wife, Regina Lynn Tucker Wolfe of Covington; two sons: Brandon Wolfe and his wife, Sara, of Williamsburg, and Derek Wolfe of Athens, GA; one granddaughter, Auden Wolfe, of Williamsburg; one brother, Rex Wolfe of Covington; three sisters: Patricia Tucker of Richmond, Teresa Barnhardt of Mount Rainier, MD., and Cheryl Dubois of Columbia, SC.; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Wolfe's body will be cremated, and a funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
