Dorothy Hunt Howard, age 76, of Culpeper, formerly of Fairfax, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at her residence.

She was born October 13, 1929 in Lexington, daughter of the late Lacey Wilson and Martha Fauber Hunt.

She retired from Hecht Company, Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben G. Howard, Sr. and her son, Ben G. Howard, Jr.

She is survived her daughters, Martha Sue Canard of Bealeton and Dorothy Coverston of Culpeper; a son, Edwin W. Howard of Palm Springs, CA; three grandchildren; a sister, Jane Greene of Winchester.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
