Covington Native Was Longtime Former Bus Driver, Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary Member

Mrs. Alma Biggs Entsminger, age 67, of Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Brian Center-Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was the wife of C.J. Entsminger, Jr. who preceded her in death in 2020.

Mrs. Entsminger was born March 11, 1956 in Covington, the daughter of the late Elbert Edmond Biggs and Lucille Booze Biggs.

A lifetime resident of this community, Alma was employed as a bus driver by the Covington School System for thirty years. She was a longtime softball coach and umpire for the former Covington Little League.

Mrs. Entsminger was a member of the Covington Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren and her cats, Lucky, Scruffy and Fluffy.

Mrs. Entsminger is survived by a son, Eddie Joe Entsminger and wife, Kaitlynn of Covington; a daughter, Nicole E. Shifflett and husband, Justin of Covington; five grandchildren, Addyson Neff, Alyssa Shifflett, Alexa Shifflett, Meredith Entsminger and Maren Entsminger; a sister, Cheryl L. Posey and Larry Terry of Covington; two nephews, Bobby Posey and Timothy Posey; and special friends, Jenny Haynes, Judy Meadows and sons, Henry and Joseph Rogers.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Anthony Lowry officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Joe Entsminger, Justin Shifflett, Nicole Shifflett, Timothy Posey, Bobby Posey, Henry Rogers and Joseph Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Terry and Kevin Hall.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6: 30 p.m.. until 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times, the residence of Nicole and Justin Shifflett, 307 Dusty's Road, Covington.
