Obituary for Charles Benton (Benny) Elmore Charles Benton (Benny) Elmore
Owner Of Elmore's Farmy Supply Was Former Republican Of The Year

Charles Benton (Benny) Elmore, 87 of Ronceverte, West Virginia, went home to be with Jesus, Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born November 29, 1935 at Dorr, WV, he was the son of the late Theodore R. and Edna Pearl Wimmer Elmore.

Benny was a U. S. Army Korean War veteran.

He was a faithful member of Ronceverte Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir.

Benny was the Owner/Operator of Elmore's Farm Supply for twenty years and was a longtime farmer. He was also a member of the Greenbrier County Farm Bureau, NRA, WV Cattlemen's Association, and was a strong supporter of the Greenbrier County Republicans, where he served multiple terms as President of the Greenbrier County Republican Club and was honored as the Republican of the Year in 2003.

Benny most importantly was selfless, honorable, humble, and was unquestionably one of the most faithful men known. He demonstrated the Fruits of the Spirit, had a constant drive to learn more about God and was a Christian witness that touched many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Henry, and Larry Elmore and one sister, Helen Taylor.

Survivors include his loving devoted wife of sixty-two years, Shirley Hess Elmore; son, Doug Elmore (Karen) of Ronceverte, WV; daughter, Susie Anderson of Ronceverte, WV; grandchildren, Ben and Hannah; brother, Dale Elmore (Bonnie) of Second Creek, WV; sisters, Isabelle Cook of Richmond, VA, Naomi Painter of Richmond, VA and Rachel Carter of Fort Spring, WV; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m, Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until time of the service, Tuesdayn at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
