South Carolina Native Dies At Age 62

Wilbert Evans Gibson, 62, of Lexington, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Mr. Gibson was born May 22, 1943 in Bennettsville, SC, a son of the late Wilbert Gibson and Marjorie Louise Stanley Gibson.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Clevenger Gibson; five children: Wilbert Lee Gibson, Jeanine Cunningham, Pamela Lynn McManamy, Steven Gibson and Dustin Gibson, all of Hampton; a brother, Michael Gibson of Buena Vista; a number of grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Wednesday with a time of reflection for Mr. Gibson's life at 5 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington, Virginia. Burial and services will be conducted at the Peninsula Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday with visitation from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
