Obituary for Virginia M. Sorrells Virginia M. Sorrells
County Native Dies At Age 95

Virginia M. Sorrells, 95, of Lexington, died Friday, April 28, 2006 in Kendal of Lexington.

She was born December 13, 1910 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Joseph W. Miller and Carrie E. Flint.

Mrs. Sorrells was a life member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sorrells was preceded in death by her husband, Ted R. Sorrells; a son, Mallory Sorrells; and five brothers: William, Lawrence, Raymond, Junior and Norman Miller.

She is survived by two daughters: Mary Ellen Hamilton of Lexington and Gail S. White of Richmond; a brother, Joseph M. Miller of Roanoke; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Barton L. Hellmuth.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
