Army Veteran Was Westinghouse-McQuay Employee For More Than 42 Years

Larry Richard Berry, 70, husband of Mable Phillips Berry of 711 Lofton Road, Raphine, died Friday morning, May 5, 2006 in the Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville.

He was born August 3, 1935 in Greenville, a son of the late Cary Richard and Annie Sweet Berry.

Mr. Berry was a U.S. Army veteran. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Westinghouse-McQuay for 42 years and 8 months.

He was a member of the Greenville Baptist Church, the Steeles Tavern V.F. W. Post #8279, and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Gwin and Tammy Berry of Raphine; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Curtis Cash of Vesuvius; two grandchildren: Whitney Berry and Autumn Berry; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Berry and a sister, Virginia Keyser.

He was the last member of his immediate family.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006 in the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Francis Funk and Rev. Don Cash, with military graveside rites by Steeles Tavern V.F.W. Post #8279.

Those desiring may call any time at his residence. There will be no public viewing. Memorials may be made to the A.M.C. Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
