Obituary for Ira Allen Frazier Ira Allen Frazier
Army Veteran Was Longtime Moose Lodge Member

Ira Allen Frazier, 83, of Lexington, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Mr. Frazier was born on December 8, 1922 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John Houston Frazier and Rachel Ballard Frazier.

He was a member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Lexington Moose Lodge for over 20 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife, Christine A. Frazier of Lexington; five children: Barney A. Frazier of Lexington, Nancy Darlene Grohnke of Monclova, OH, Gary Lee Frazier of Lexington, SC, Ricky C. Frazier of Lexington and Keith A. Frazier of Roanoke; two brothers: Dave Frazier of Glasgow and John Wayne Frazier of Lexington; three sisters: Ecklean Entsminger, Thelma Hall, and Barbara Durham of Lexington; 6 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services with military rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006 in the Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Barton Hellmuth officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Effinger First Responders, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA. 24450 or the American Red Cross, 331 N. Central Ave., Staunton, VA. 24401. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
