Obituary for Betty Campbell Powell Betty Campbell Powell
Retired From Burlington Industries

Betty Campbell Powell, 69, of Natural Bridge Station, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006 in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

Mrs. Powell was born on July 5, 1936 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Roy McKinley Campbell and Dorothy McCullough Campbell.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and was retired from Burlington Industries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Fainter.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, Bennie W. Powell; a son, Johnnie Powell and his wife, Peggy; and her special grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Maynard Reynolds and his wife Virginia of Glasgow; and three sisters: Laura Powell of Natural Bridge Station; Marjorie Beard and her husband Jim of Lexington; Faye Sorrels and her husband Sheldon of Buena Vista; a special sister-in-law, Katie Austin; and special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Bostic and Rev. Sheldon Sorrels officiating. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Glasgow First Aid Crew, 6387 S. Lee Highway, Natural Bridge, VA. 24578. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
