Margaret Morris "Polly" Humphries, 88, formerly of Vesuvius, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Avante at Waynesboro.

She was born July 21, 1917 in Augusta County to Charles William and Virgie Judson Morris.

Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Herman Humphries; three brothers, George, Elden and William Morris; and four sisters: Frances Bear, Elizabeth Lucas, Annie Sensabaugh and Dorothy Beaver. Survivors include a son, Richard H. Humphries of Greenville, and a daughter, Charlotte Ann Parker of Vesuvius.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Vesuvius Baptist Church. Burial followed at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Viewing was held one hour prior to the services at the church. Visitation was held after the services in the fellowship hall at the church. The Henry Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
