Obituary for Roland Lee Burrows Roland Lee Burrows
Businessman Was Community Leader, Angus Cattle Owner

Roland Lee Burrows, 75, Rockbridge Baths, died Saturday, May 27, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Burrows.

He was born to l'Della and J. C. Burrows on March 4, 1931 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and received his master's degree from the University of Houston.

For 18 years, he was president of Property Management System, which managed properties across the United States. He was Senior Vice President of First City Bancorporation, Houston, and Chairman of the Board of Premisys, a Prudential subsidiary before retiring.

He was a resident of Houston for 17 years.

Mr. Burrows was a community leader in Alvin, Texas for many years. He also served on the city council, on the board of various banks, the board of trustees for the Houston Baptist University and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Alvin. He also was a member of the Manly Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington. He was the past president of the Texas Angus Association and was actively involved with registered Angus cattle in Texas, Missouri, and Virginia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel in Lexington, VA.

Burial will be in the Alone Mill Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
