John Edward Martin, 70, of Buena Vista, left his earthly home for his home in Heaven with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 28, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington.

Mr. Martinw as born on October 20, 1935 in Tazewell, a son of the late George Edgar Martin and Euva Atkins Martin.

He was a member of the Calvary Brethren Church in Buena Vista and was a retired truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Clyde and Ralph Martin.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Geraldine Martin of Buena Vista; his daughter, Lisa D. Lewis and husband Steve; three grandchildren; one sister, Joella Bosley and husband Dennis; brother-in-law, Robert L. Clark; three sisters-in-law: Brenda Martin, Janie Martin and Linda Gilliam and husband Bruce.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Calvary Brethren Church with pastor Rick Ramsey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Green Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
