Obituary for June Hatcher Rafferty June Hatcher Rafferty
Burlington Retiree Was Jehovah's Witnesses Member

June Hatcher Rafferty, 71, of Natural Bridge, died Monday, June 19, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington.

Mrs. Rafferty was born on May 19, 1935 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Houston Jennings Hatcher, Sr. and Carrie Lillian Watkins Hatcher.

She was a member of the South Lexington Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and was retired from Burlington Industries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Rafferty and one brother, Daniel Lee Hatcher.

Mrs. Rafferty is survived by five children: Maureen Blackwell and husband John of Richmond; Maria Snider of Lexington; Elizabeth Rafferty of Richmond; John M. Rafferty of Louisa; Paul G. Rafferty of Richmond; three brothers: Houston J. Hatcher, Jr. of Natural Bridge, Henry M. Mathcer of Lexington, and Gilmore W. Hatcher of Natural Bridge; five sisters: Carrie Walker of Lexington, OK; Ruth Lewis of Buford, SC; Sue Denson of Roanoke; Margaret Watt of Natural Bridge Station; Stephanie Miller of Roanoke; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Steve Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
