Effinger Volunteer Fireman Retired From Lees Carpets

Carl Junior Hostetter, 66, of Lexington, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Mr. Hostetter was born August 14, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a son of Emma Bane Hostetter of Lexington and the late Carl Edward Hostetter.

He was a life member of the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department and retired from Lees Carpets after 43 years of service. He was currently working as a carrier for the Roanoke Times.

Mr. Hostetter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley P. Hostetter; three sons: Carl H. "Bucky" Hostetter and wife Laurie of Lexington; Michael A. Hostetter and wife Lisa of Buena Vista; Randall W. Hostetter and wife Tina of Roanoke; one brother, Thomas E. Hostetter of Lexington one sister, Patsy H. Link of Buchanan; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Short officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
