He was born March 25, 1955 in Lexington, a son of the late Reese Coleman Van Ness, Sr. and Ella Dudley.

He was a member of the Lauderdale ARP Church.

He is survived by a sister, Bessie Mae Camper of Buena Vista.

Funeral services will be private.
