Lois Alphin Webster Dunlap, 85, of Lexington, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006.

She was born July 5, 1921 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Henry Alphin and Edith Webster.

Mrs. Dunlap was a retired Rockbridge County school teacher, having taught in public schools for 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Halstead McCown Dunlap; three sons, William (Bill) Halstead Dunlap and wife, Diane of Sterling, VA; Thomas (Tom) Henry Dunlap of South Boston, VA; and Halstead McClure Dunlap and his wife, Lisa, of Rockbridge County; a sister, Martha Vance of Buena Vista; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Martin Stokes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church social hall.
