Obituary for William Allen Moffitt William Allen Moffitt
Rockbridge Weekly Publisher's Brother-In-Law Dies At Age 62

William Allen Moffitt, 62, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, died at his residence.

He was born March 1, 1944 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of the late Annie Laurie and Fred Darling Moffitt of Spartanburg.

Mr. Moffitt was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy and was employed at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal newspaper since 1970.

He was a longtime member of the Evangel Cathedral of Spartanburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Diane Moffitt.

He is survived by a brother, John F. Moffitt and wife Moki of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Judith A. Clark and husband Jerry of Clifton Forge, VA; nieces and nephews: John Moffitt of San Juan Capistrano, CA; Miranda Moffitt of San Francisco, CA; Chris B. Clark and wife Erin of Clifton Forge, VA; Graham P. Clark of Arlington, Va; Suzanne F. Clark of Ithaca, NY; a great niece, Annie Laurie Clark of Clifton Forge.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, S.C. with the Rev. Jerry Clevenger officiating. The Floyd Funeral Home, Spartanburg, S.C. is in charge of arrangements.
