Obituary for Molly Jewel LaRue Wilmer Molly Jewel LaRue Wilmer
Had Career In Banking, Worked With Many Civic Organizations

Molly Jewel LaRue Wilmer bid farewell to her earthly home of Riverside and went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 8, 2006.

She was born December 16, 1929.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Wilmer and her parents, Randolph Franklin LaRue, Sr. and Lelia Camper LaRue. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Leonard and Sam LaRue and sisters, Mildred and Anna.

Molly's professional career was that of banking, which she contributed over 41 years of service to. She was always involved in civic organizations her whole life. These include the American Red Cross with 15 years of service, the Lions Club with 20 years of service with which she received many awards including the "Melvin Jones Fellow" which is a great honor. She was a member of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Molly was well known and loved by all who ever came in contact with her.

Surviving are her nephew/son, Stephen K. Freeman and his wife, Linda and grandson, Samuel L. Freeman, who were her primary caretakers of late at her home where she passed away with dignity, grace, and the comfort she so greatly deserved. Other survivors include a sister, Josephine Hansford of Titusville, FL; a stepdaughter, Barbara Ann Byers and husband, Clyde and their children, all of Loganville, GA; several nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, "Rusty"; and special neighbors, Mike and Carol Harris and their granddaughter, "Tabby".

A service of home going, praise, and farewell will be held Saturday, November 11, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandra Rushing officiating. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge ARP Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Lomax Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice or to the Alzheimer's Association.
