Touched Everyone In A Special Way...

Willie Elizabeth Berry Norcross, 96, of Lexington, departed this world and entered into heaven the 13th day of November, 2006.

She was born February 13, 1910 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late James Berry and Edna Dunaway Berry.

She is being reunited with her husband of 55 years, Lyle C. Norcross; three daughters: Elizabeth Houser, Ruby Jarvis, and Carol Moore; a son, Lyle Mitchell Norcross; three grandsons: Steve Jarvis, Greg Jarvis and Kevin Norcross; and two sons-in-law: Jim Black and Lewis Jarvis.

She is leaving behind four daughters: Artie Black of Lexington, Mary Jarvis of Fairfield, Betty Painter and her husband Calvin, of Staunton; and Emma Shelton and her husband, Bill of Charleston, SC; a son, Douglas Norcross and his wife, Tina of Waynesboro; three very special sons-in-law: Paul Jarvis and David Moore, both of Lexington, and Ray Houser of Staunton; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Norcross of Richmond. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

She was a very special mother, grandmother and friend. She touched everyone who came into contact with her in a very special way. She taught us all the importance of family, a sense of humor, dignity and pride, faith in Good and most of all, never ending love.

We will start the celebration of her life with family and friends at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory in Lexington, Virginia, Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. and at other times, at the home of Mary Jarvis, 400 Jonestown Road, Fairfield, Va.

A service will be held at the New Providence Presbyterian Church on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Christopher Crotwell. Burial will follow in the New Providence Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family asks that if it is your wish to make a donation in her memory in lieu of flowers, please send it to the New Providence Presbyterian Church, 1208 New Providence Road, Raphine, VA 24472.
