Obituary for Roberta C. Herr Roberta C. Herr
Accomplished Artist Was Descendant Of Participants In "The Salem Witch Trials Of Massachusetts"

Roberta C. Herr, died in her home, "The Log House", near Brownsburg on November 22, 2006 at the age of 74.

She was born January 30, 1932 in Independence, Kansas, the child of Richard and Cecil Scott.

She was a descendant of participants in "The Salem Witch Trial of Massachusetts."

In more recent times, her family was portrayed in several motion pictures, the best known being "The Dark at the Head of the Stairs" and "Picnic." An accomplished artist, many of her paintings can be found in Virginia homes as well as her Pennsylvania Dutch painted furniture and her hex signs.

Robert is survived by her husband of 55 years, William; her son, Dane of Clifton Forge; her daughters: April Weaver of Elleston and Circe Lindsey of Lexington; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.

Her ashes will be scattered to the wind from the high porch of "The Log House" carried aloft by the peals of her beloved bagpipes.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
