Obituary for Robert Fairchild Huber Robert Fairchild Huber
Journalist Was Author Of Three Books

Robert Fairchild Huber, passed away on November 25, 2006 at his home in Lexington, Virginia.

Robert was born June 15, 1923 in Passaic, New Jersey.

He is survived by Carolyn, his wife of 59 years; sons: Paul, David and Richard; a daughter, Roberta; a sister, Margery Dahn; and five grandchildren.

Robert was a journalist and author. He worked for numerous newspapers including the Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer and Pacific Stars and Stripes. After his retirement, he published three books about his Pilgrim ancestry.

One of his greatest passions was writing and editing the Howland Quarterly for the Pilgrim John Howland Society in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

He was a member of the National Press Club, Descendants of the Mayflower Society, the Pilgrim John Howland Society, and many other genealogical societies.

Donations may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice at P. O. Box 948, Lexington, Va. 24450.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Lexington Presbyterian Church Chapel with the Rev. William Klein officiating. A reception will follow at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
