Paul F. Davis, Jr., 89, born October 17, 1917, went to meet his Heavenly Father on December 14, 2006.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gladys B. Davis; three daughters: Gloria Jean Broughman of Buena Vista; Tammy D. Lyn and her husband, Tim of Mechanicsville, VA; Teresa D. Hartless and her husband, Gene of Lexington; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and spouses and three great great grandchildren.

Paul is the son of the late Paul F. Davis, Sr. and Jeannie Davis of Lexington and had one brother, the late Wayne Lee Davis.

Paul attended Washington and Lee University in 1936, majoring in Civil Engineering.

He worked for Burlington Industries from 1937-1946 and from 1949-1973, then for the city of Buena Vista from 1974-1986.

During his break in work service, he served as Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1946-1949.

Paul was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years, and lately attended Grace Chapel Church in Buena Vista, Virginia.

Paul was a Boy Scout leader for many years, and a great collector of coins, stamps, model airplanes and model trains.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joseph "Butch" Grow officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
