Billy Joe Copeland, 87, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, passed away November 10, 2025 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV.

He was born June 29, 1938 in Greenville, WV, the son of the late William R. "Junior" and Pauline Mann Copeland.

Billy was a U. S. Army veteran, attended Calvary United Methodist Church and retired from WV Department of Highways.

His biggest joy was being a farmer and teaching his family and friends farming.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Copeland (4/28/2025); and his brother, Kenneth Copeland.

Even though Billy and Nancy had no children, he had special nieces, nephews and special people he called his children: Braxton and Bristol Hollandsworth, Todd Craghead (Braylee), Jonathan Irvin (Chelsea) and their daughter, Adaline. Nephew, Jackie Hollandsworth (Regina); sister-in-law, Norma Morgan (Richard), sister-in-law, Becky Clark Copeland, niece, Melody Loudermilk (Terry) and Jeff Sanger.

Funeral services for Billy Joe will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Emory Hanna officiating, interment will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday November 13, 2025 at the funeral home.
