Obituary for Katie Wines Altizer Katie Wines Altizer
Amherst Native Dies In Richmond

Katie Wines Altizer, 90, of Glasgow, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 in a Richmond Nursing Home.

Mrs. Altizer was born January 30, 1916 in Amherst County, a daughter of the late Charles Ogden and Blanche Sandridge Ogden.

She was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Wines and Arnold Altizer; one son, Steve V. Wines; two sisters: Love Ogden and Corine Wines; three bothers: William Ogden, Henry Ogden and Thurman Ogden.

Surviving are one daughter, Joan W. Reynolds of Richmond; one son, Ronald H. Wines of Glasgow; two sisters: Gladys Kerr and Stella Camden, both of Glasgow; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church with Dr. Brian Weger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
