Obituary for Walter Elwood Davis Walter Elwood Davis
Veteran Was Lifetime American Legion, VFW Member

Walter Elwood Davis, 80, of Buena Vista, died Monday, December 25, 2006.

He was born July 13, 1926 in Amherst County, a son of the late Walter A. Davis and Rena Sandidge Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Potter Davis; two sons: Jerry Allen Davis and Patrict Jay Davis; and a brother, John Dudley Davis.

Mr. Davis was a World War II Army veteran and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the V. F. W.

He is survived by a son, Jimmy E. Davis of Buena Vista; two daughters, Gayenelle Grant of Troutville and Sharon Agnor of Lexington; a sister, Betty Jarvis of Buena Vista.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
