Obituary for Evelyn Virginia Knick Evelyn Virginia Knick
Retired From The Richmond DMV

Evelyn Virginia Knick, 84, of Lexington, died Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home after a short illness.

Evelyn was born October 27, 1922 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late John Bolivar and Ottie Higgins Knick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Estel G. Knick, Samuel D. Knick, and Elmer C. Knick; and a sister, Dorothy Dooley.

She retired from the State Corporation (DMV) in 1987 in Richmond, Virignia.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Jean Chabot of Lexington; four sisters: Ottie Marie Canady of Goshen, VA; Marjorie Plogger, Christine Blankenship and Pat Conner-Magee, all of Lexington; three brothers: Carl J. Knick, John Henry Knick of Lexington, Va and W. Richard Knick of Danville, VA; a large number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. James D. Graves and Pastor Michael Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 129 S. Randolph St., Lexington, Va. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
