Former Natural Bridge Resident Dies In North Carolina

Edna Ruby Hall Sumner, age 83, passed away at the Brian Center, Friday, the 12th of January.

Edna was born in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Mr. Keener Hall, Sr. and the late Mrs. Pearl Scott Hall and was married to the late Mr. James R. Sumner.

She spent the last six years in Monroe, North Carolina with her daughter, Mrs. Beverly Eichel.

Edna worked at the Natural Bridge Resort in sales for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Beverly Eichel and husband Ron of the home; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.

She also has a brother, Mr. Keener Hall of Gladstone, MO; two sisters: Mrs. Janet Russ of Goodview, VA and Mrs. Louise Hounshall of Franklinton, LA.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, James, and a grandson. Richard Lodge Jr.

A graveside service will take place at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Natural Bridge, VA. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. There are no local services scheduled.

The McEwen Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe, North Carolina is serving the family.
