Obituary for Estern (Bob) H. Ruble Estern (Bob) H. Ruble
Served In The U. S. Navy For 21 Years

Estern (Bob) H. Ruble, 79, of Natural Bridge Station, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at his home.

He was born May 14, 1927 in Lynchburg, VA, a son of the late Edward Ruble, Sr. and Dorothy B. Staton Ruble.

He was a member of Arnold's Valley Southern Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy for 21 years serving on various ships and stationed at different shore locations. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War and Fleet Reserve Associations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Roberts of Lynchburg.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Beulah Wilson Ruble of Natural Bridge Station; children, Brenda Miller and husband, Jim of California, Zandra Sills of Texas, Deborah Ruble of California, Howard (Tom) Ruble and his wife, Denise, of Arizona, Edward Ruble and his wife, Lisa, of Missouri, Glenna Turney and her husband, Paul, of Texas, Francis (Gigi) Ruble of California, John Ruble of Arizona; three step children, Carolyn Anderson and her husband, Dan, of Centreville, John Wilson and his wife, Charlene, of Natural Bridge Station, Tim Wilson and his wife, Lisa, of Natural Bridge Station; one brother, Edward Ruble, Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Lynchburg; 19 grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Glasgow First Aid Crew, Arnold's Valley Southern Baptist Church or Rockbridge Area Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at Arnold's Valley Southern Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2007 with Rev. Conald Fogus and Rev. Charles O'Roak officiating. Interment will follow in Glasgow Cemetery with a military service by the American Legion. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
