Was Victim Was House Fire

Charles Roscoe Nicely, 86, of Lexington, died Friday, March 9, 2007.

He was born April 9, 1920 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Will Nicely and Salenah Knick Nicely.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dessie Falls; two sons: William Edward "Eddie" Nicely and Wayne Nicely; two brothers: Kenton and Billy Nicely and an infant sister, Dorothy Evelyn Nicely; one grandson.

Roscoe was a driver for Maple Rock/Sealtest for over 30 years.

He was a World War II veteran and a farmer.

He is survived by his children: Patricia Band and husband, Sheridan; Kenton Nicely and wife, Gail; Stephen Nicely and wife, Patti, all of Lexington; Ronald Nicely and wife, Sharon, of Goshen; a brother, Blair "Red" Nicely and wife, June; and two daughters-in-law, Doris Nicely and Vickie Nicely; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Zeb C. Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to your local fire department. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
