Ray G. Marlatt, 84, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007.

He was born April 4, 1922 in New Jersey, a son of the late Herbert Ray Marlatt and Edna Schenk Marlatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Mr. Marlatt was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and was the owner of Value Mart for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lilly Carlson Marlatt; three sons: Bruce A. Marlatt, Brad W. Marlatt, and Gregory S. Marlatt, all of Buena Vista; a daughter, Pamela Evans of Charlottesville; and a sister, Alice Fredericks of Pearl River, New York; and six grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice. There are no services planned at this time.
