Charles Embrey Pooley, 69, of Buena Vista, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at home.

He was born June 25, 1937 in Rockbridge County, son of the late Clarence Pooley and Carrie Moore Pooley.

He was retired from the city of Buena Vista after many years of service.

He was a member of the Light House Church.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jean Pooley; three sons: Charles A. Pooley, Christopher C. Pooley and Jeremy M. Pooley, all of Buena Vista; a sister-in-law and husband, Georgie Dolyle Adkinson of Buena Vista.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jay Thorn, the Rev. Alton Bartee and the Rev. Walter Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
