Mary Sophie Bennington, 95, of Lexington, died Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born February 19, 1912 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late William Alexander Bennington and Minnie Hartless Bennington.

She was a member of the Lauderdale ARP Church and was retired from James Lees.

Miss Bennington is survived by two sisters: Mattie Smith of Lexington and Margaret Jordan of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
