Obituary for Iris Love McMullen Cartier Iris Love McMullen Cartier
Was Life-Long Member Of South River United Methodist Church

Iris Love McMullen Cartier, died April 4, 2007.

She was born in 1917, she was the youngest child of John Neal and Sarah Cornelia McMullen, and the last child born at the McMullen home place on South River in Greene County, Virginia.

She was a life-long member of the South River United Methodist Church.

Iris completed her education at the Denison School in Washington, D.C. and had a long career as a keypunch operator for the Federal Government., first at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, later at th Federal Housing Administration, and last at the Department of Housing and Urban Develoment.

She lived in Lexington, Virginia the past ten years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Paul Cartier, Jr., her son-in-law, The Rev. Lowell Dale Cooper, five brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Cartier Cooper; three granddaughters: Elisa D. Cooper, Bethany R Cooper, and Amy D. Cooper; her grandson-in-law and Bethany's husband, Joseph M. Futrelle; Amy's fiance, Charles M. White; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Harrison Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Keith D. Moore officiating.
