Obituary for Jack Beckman Bronander Jack Beckman Bronander
Served With 10th Mountain Division In Italy During World War II

Jack Beckman Bronander, 81, of Lexington, Va, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Lewis-Gale Hospital, Roanoke, VA.

He was born February 14, 1926 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm Bertel Bronander and Iris P. Beckman Bronander; first wife, Jane Ellen Buchanan; brother, Wilhelm Bronander.

He is survived by a sister, Eris-Marie Bunnell; a brother, Franklin Burton Bronander; and his wife, Janice Kall Bronander.

Left to cherish his memory are Kenneth D. Kall of Little Egg Harbor, Judith A. Kall Kurtz of Budd Lake, New Jersey and four grandchildren.

Jack served with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during World War II, was a trustee of VFW Post 1499, Lexington, and served as liaison between the VFW and the Care Box Project, supporting local troops currently deployed overseas.

He was a member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church, served on the Session, sang in the choir, was active in the Effinger Rurtian Club since 1995 serving on several committees and was elected Vice President in 2005 and President in 2006.

He operated a small business providing prototype metal products in New Jersey and Washington and Lee University. He provided hands-on training for Rockbridge County High School students as an extension of their classroom studies.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church with Dr. Horace Douty officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Oxford Presbyterian Church, 143 Oxford Lane, Lexington, Va. 24450, or the Maury River Senior Center, 2137 Magnolia Ave., Buena Vista, VA. 24416.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
