County Native Was New Hope Church Of God In Christ Member

Marianesa Louise Henderson, 50, of Lexington, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.

She was born March 3, 1957 in Rockbridge County.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Louisa Carter and father, Marvin Willard Henderson, Sr. and grandmother, Annie Mary Carter.

She was a member of the New Hope Church of God in Christ, where she was a prayer captain and was a member of the women's sewing circle.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Mae Henderson, Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Dorenda Jeanette Henderson, Lynchburg; six brothers: Marvin W. Henderson, Jr., Warrensburg, MO; Anthony Hinton, Detroit, MI; Ernest E. Henderson, Alexandria; Frankie A. Williams, Nashville, TN; Bowman Ware, Staunton; and Dirk Williams, Charlotte, NC; four sisters: Donna W. Valentine, Jacksonville, TN; Jaquetta Tyson, Lexington; Penny Smith, Staunton; Tracye Henderson, Nashville, TN; an aunt and uncle, Richard and Frances Carter, Natural Bridge; two special nieces, Annie Tyson and Hannah Tyson; special friends: Candy P. Hicks, Linda Wooding and the Jackson and Wooding families; special cousin, Shelbey Diamond-Alexander; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Main St., Lexington, with elder Donald O'Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the New Hope Church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
