Mary Virginia Hartless, 93, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.

She was born January 3, 1914 in Bath County, a daughter of the late Walter Graham Armentrout and Etta Neff Armentrout.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Steele Hartless.

She is survived by her children: Joan and William Kilborn, West Grove, PA; Jon and Marion Bowman, Apex, NC; Mary and Bernard Deavers, Millboro, VA; EmmaGolde and Carl Moore, Buena Vista; Wanda and Lawrence Pennington, Fairfield, VA; Brenda and Harry Smith, Fairfield, VA; Palmer and Linda Hartless, Fairfield, VA; Linda and the late Ralph Baumann, Rockbridge Baths; 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchilden and a special niece, Betty Natkin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McElwee Chapel with Rev. Malcom Brownlee and Rev. David Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the McElwee Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Fairfield Rescue Squad and Fire Department. The family received friends Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
