Obituary for Isabelle B. Thompson Isabelle B. Thompson
She Was A Member Of Goshen Presbyterian Church

Isabelle B. Thompson, 93, of Goshen, died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Heritage Hall, Lexington.

She was born May 14, 1914 in Bath County, a daughter of the late Charles Burke and Angie Ellen (Jack) Burke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Thompson; two sons, Allen Thompson and Joe Thompson; two daughters, Peggy Hall and Linda Thompson; a sister, Ardelia McDonald and son-in-law, Dennis L. Loan, Sr.

She was a member of Goshen Presbyterian Church and was a seamstress for Tommy's in Staunton. She was a lifetime member of Goshen Fire Dept.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by four sons, James O. Thompson, Sr., Millboro, Glenn G. Thompson, Sr. and wife, Geneva, Goshen, Dale A. Thompson, Sr. and wife, Lee Lee, Millboro, and R. Wayne Thompson and wife, Teresa, Lexington; four daughters, Wanda T. Cataldi, Olney, MD, Patty T. Loan, Millboro, Delores T. Ingram and husband, George, Millboro, Robin L. Duke and husband, Tom, Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Lois S. Thompson, Goshen; son-in-law, Edgar Hall; thirty-three grandchildren; sixty-two great-grandchildren; and five great, great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.

With respect to their mother, the children are honoring her wishes to be cremated. There will be a private service at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
