Homemaker Was Beth Horon United Methodist Church Member

Shirley Watkins Ramsey, 74, of Buena Vista, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born June 7, 1932 in Natural Bridge Station, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe Glover and Eva Jane Hartless Watkins.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Beth Horon United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith R. Wilmore; her grandson, Jessie Young; her sisters, June W. Pryor, Lois W. Watts, and Lorene W. Ellington; and her brother, Reaford Glover "Bud" Watkins.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lyle Daulton Ramsey; her children and their spouses: Sharon R. Sorrels and James of Troutville; Margaret R. Stinnett and Robert of Buena Vista; Jonathan L. Ramsey and Esther of Natural Bridge; Carla R. Young and Chris of Eastover, SC; Joel C. Ramsey and Bobbi of Buena Vista; and Bruce E. Ramsey and Dana of Buena Vista; son-in-law, James A. Wilmore and wife, Sheila of Natural Bridge; and her grandchildren: Sarah Sorrels, Jamie Sorrels, Justin Wilmore, Katie Ramsey, Tammy Stinnett, Joshua Ramsey, Jeremy Ramsey, Allison Young, Roscoe Young, Amanda Ramsey, Cameron Ramsey, Brody Ramsey, Brandi Clark, Lauren Ramsey, Tyler Ramsey, Zachary Burch, Brett Burch; and a great grandchild, Sydney Taylor. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hepler and Debi Pettry officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Beth Horon United Methodist Church.
