Obituary for Mamie Virginia (Irvine) Chaplin Mamie Virginia (Irvine) Chaplin
Stonewall Jackson Hospital Nurse Retired In 1986

Mamie Virginia (Irvine) Chaplin, 85, of Lexington, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007.

She was born December 17, 1921 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Graham A. Irvine and Luila Amy (Smith) Irvine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy T. Chaplin.

She was a member of the Poplar Hill Presbyterian Church.

She was a nurse and retired in 1986 from the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Earnest V. Chaplin; a daughter, Starlene A. Clark of Rockbridge County; two sons: Larry V. Chaplin of Henderson, Texas and Clinton J. Chaplin of Kilgore, Texas; three brothers: Richard Irvine, Lexington; Bruce Irvine and Leo Irvine of Rockbridge County; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Zeb Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
