Vincent Carlos Smith, 65, of Lexington, died Friday, July 6, 2007.

He was born October 25, 1941 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Marion Willis Smith and Alla Harriett Mutispaugh Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert K. Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Davis (Carter) Smith; two sons: Thomas Carter and wife, Tonia, Buena Vista; and Don Carlos Smith and wife, Laurel of Lexington; two daughters: Carla Smith Austin and husband, Robert of Natural Bridge; and Harriet Smith and fiance, Allen of Lexington; two brothers: Wayne Lee Smith of Lexington and Ralph Marion Smith and wife, Margie of Florida; two sisters-in-law: Mae Farmer and hsband, Roy of Lexington and Sandra Carter of Glasgow; eight grandchildren: John, Brandy, Colleen, Kimberly, Hunter, Katherine, Colton, and Sarah; one great granddaghter, Alyssa Hartless.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel wit the Rev. Art Brumit officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
