World War II Veteran Dies At VA Medical Center

Howard Bundy Gray, 80, of Buchanan, died Monday, July 9, 2007 in the VA Medical Center, Asheville, North Carolina.

He was born March 28, 1927 in West Virginia, a son of the late Jerry M. Gray and Annie Bell (Clements) Gray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Lucille Mosley and Dorothy Hodges; five brothers: Jerry Gray, Cecil Gray, Robert Gray, Albert Gray and Roy Gray.

Mr. Gray was a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hazel Harris Gray of Buchanan; three daughters: Rebecca June Lucero, WA; Sharon Lee Fix, Lexington; and Janet Gray Davis, Natural Bridge; twelve grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Millcreek Cemetery, Troutville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Association for Parkinson's Disease. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
